    1. I live in New Orleans and with the flooding from Hurricane Katrina and our home being flooded but repaired I have been getting really bad symptoms with many on your list. My DR wants me to have a muscle biopsy for Fibromylgia (sp) but I don’t want to. I do know there is something black on the walls surrounding our a/c vents that looks like some type of mold to me. The house belongs to my parents and I pointed it out to my father and it fell on deaf ears..granted he is 83yrs old and taking care of my mother. I would also like to know if there are labs to take a sample to be tested.

      1. Since we had sudden and severe roof problems in our home we have a mold situation. I have Many symptoms of Sjogrens and black mold.

    2. Please would love to read others stories…I am on lyrica for leg spasms and back spasms that came on suddenly last May.

    3. Thanks for setting this up. I have been sick for 22 years. It started with a fungal sinus infection. My basement flooded and we had a dripping air conditioner at my work that they didn’t fix in the 20 years I worded there. I have also tested positive for mold allergy. Fibromyalgia is a catch all when docs don’t know what to do. I have had so many doctors tell me it was all in my head. I can hardly concentrate today due to storms in and out. I will persue treatment after reading your article. Thanks again.

    4. I bought an old house here in Iceland last September and have been sick all winter, I just got the house tested with very probable mold present. This is not the first time for me, my previous house, in Denmark was also heavily molded. Now I am taking this very seriously.

  5. hi, I’m Lanni Reiswig. I’ve had the dx of Fibromyalgia & EDS for 20 years and this is the first time I have heard of the mold connection. I have cut out all the “bad” foods, tried every kind of medication, “exercised”, tried the many supplements, etc, etc, etc. and the pain has actually increased over the years. I am definitely going to be talking to my specialist about this.

I have been complaining for years about the black mold that runs rampant in my office (the whole building, actually) but nothing has been done. Would love some support in this matter. Thank you!

  13. I would like to join the Facebook community. I have fibromyalgia, COPD, asthma and a bunch of other things. The home I lived in was filled with black mold to the point I had to move out. We are currently waiting to have it destroyed so we can rebuild.
Meanwhile I am hoping to connect with others that may be experiencing some of what I have gone through. Speaking with others about this helps.
    Thank you.

  14. I was diagnosed with FMS in 1998 and have issues with CFS. I’m interested to learn more about how black mold could play a role in this as well as anything that can help. Thanks.

  15. I would really like to be accepted in your group. My family & I have been suffering since 2003 & we just out that the house we were living it had severe mold contamination where we could not ever see.

  16. I have been wondering if my problems are related to mold exposure for a long time now; am looking forward to see what everyone has been experiencing.

  17. My husband is an indoor air quality and mold inspector. I manage his FB page called Indoor Environmental Systems. I’d like to include your FB page as a resource to our clients. He receives many requests for medical information regarding the dangers of living in an environment with toxic mold.

I’m not sure why, but I cannot see a way to join your site. Perhaps a business site is not able to join a site of this type? If you know of a way that I could link our sites – I’d love to share it with those who land on my page. Your site is extremely informative.

There is another site we often refer people to. I’ll share it here knowing it will be helpful to you and those struggling with black mold illnesses. http://www.momsaware.org/personal-stories/the-fabry-story/48-timeline-of-events.html

Blessings to you and all those afflicted with the devastating symptoms associated with exposure to toxic molds.

  18. Hello, I have been struggling with sickness for 15 yrs. Diagnosis given of fibro in 2008. Only to soon learn this just a name. The roller coaster ride came to a head on October 2014 after yet another basement flood in Aug. 2014. Where I truly felt my house making me sick. You see I have had the misfortune of living in a home where I have learned to document the basement floodings I have endured the past 30 years that has equalled to 44. The cause is the failing sanitary sewer systems in an older city I live. A catch 22 now I am not able to sell my home nor move. I have been considered disabled since 2010. I have managed to make some headway to get the wood and drywall removed. I still feel more needs to be done. I don’t have the resources. I know from October to April I feel the worst. Windows shut and heating running. I read as much as I can find on mold and toxins. I feel I can learn more hearing from others and would welcome joining your group. Thank you.

  19. I have been sick for 5 years. 1st polymialgia then fibro and now asthma. I worked in the basement of a very old building that flooded 4times in the 14 years I worked there. I have always thought mold caused my illness.

  20. I LOOK FORWARD TO LEARNING FROM THIS GROUP. WE DID NOT REALIZE IT UNTIL WE STARTED MOVING OUR FURNITURE AND THINGS FROM OUR HOME AND MOVING TO ANOTHER CITY THAT WE HAD BEEN LIVING WITH BLACK MOLD FOR AWHILE. I WAS NOT EVEN ALLOWED TO BRING THE CLOTHES I HAD ON A BED AND IN MY CLOSET. WHICH WERE A LOT. THE PUBLIC HEALTH NURSE SAID WITH MY COMPROMISED IMMUNE SYSTEM I WAS PUTTING MY HEALTH IN WORSE DANGER IF I TOOK THE CLOTHES WITH ME. MADE ME SICK TO LEAVE SO MANY OF MY THINGS BEHIND. BUT WE DID BECAUSE WE KNEW IT WAS FOR THE BEST. I HOPE YOU ACCEPT ME INTO THIS GROUP.

  21. I have said for years that it was black mold and not fibro. So glad someone else finally had proof. Thanks for that.

  22. I moved to SC about 1 1/2 years ago. I have hypothyroid, raynauds, APS and who knows what else ever since I moved here my syptoms have gotten worse. I have been to so my specialist they just tested me for Adrenal Insufficiency I am waiting for the result. My daughter who I live with in an apartment has becoming sick also, she was just diagnosed with Hasi’s and her syptoms are starting to be like mine. She has a baby that is 13 months old she has had so many problems. Our apartment has a yellow water stain around the air vent on the ceiling and you can hear a dripping noise in the closet that has the air conditioning and heater thing along with the hot water tank. My daughter made the comment the other day about her syptoms are starting to sound like mine then I just kinda put it all together. I would really appreciate it if you could please add me I really don’t know that much about mold and what all it can do to you or an infant. Thank you very much.

  23. Hi i would love to join as i have a house that got flooded and soon aftrr i got sick. Wondering if the black mold has any baring on my symptoms? Thanks ☺

  24. I was recently diagnosed with Sjogren’s Syndrome and was diagnosed as bi-polar II about 7 years ago. The house I lived in for 10 years was gutted for black mold 6 months after I moved out 4 years ago. I would love to discuss black mold symptoms with others.

  25. Yes I understand the arrangement of this Facebook group. I have been sick with fibromyalgia diagnosis and questioning now if it is a mold issue. I

  26. Yes I understand and accept the arrangement of this Facebook group. I have been sick with fibromyalgia diagnosis and questioning now if it is a mold issue.

  27. I agree to the terms above for the group & would like to join 🙂 I was diagnosed with Lyme about a year ago now and have been improving some however there seems to be a piece missing and have been exposed to mold.

  28. I am very much interested in joining this group as I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia & Multiple Sclerosis both… however there have been medications prescribed to me that don’t seem to do much at all and I am curious that I may suffer from something else entirely…

  29. I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia by two different Rheumatologists. I always wondered if I was misdiagnosed. Interested to read about mold.

  30. I discover a Sarcoidosis for inhaled organig toxic powder (I live in Italy)
Now seem to be in remission.
    About 2 years of disease.

  31. My good friend sent me a link… I’m moving out of house with mold, I’ve had bleeding for 2.5 years that has no diagnosis yet.
Afraid to learn more!! But, hoping to be empowered by others stories.
    Diane

  32. Can’t wait for more info I’ve been debating seeing a doctor I’ve had so many people tell me I have fibro myalgia and cronic fatigue but I lived in a 160 year old house for 15 years and thats when I started feeling bad it was gradual but it got alot worse ive since moved 5 years ago when I learned black mold was in the house and its dangers I hope everyone effected get the info tgey need to get well:)

  33. I have been suffering since I worked in a metal recycling plant. Chemical sensitivities have been plaguing so many people it is scary! It wears you down and then other things like fibromyalgia appear. Toxic mold I believe was discovered in Erin Brockovich’s new home, so don’t think it has to be an old must house!

  34. Randi Jo Heisler (Timmer) I’ve wondered for years if I wasn’t being affected by mold, but didn’t know how to go about getting tested. I believe God put your articles under my nose so I’d finally get the help I need, since recently it’s become almost impossible to walk thanks to my knees and ankles barely bending, not to mention the hip and back pain. As my biological mother has MS, I have been fearful for 10 years that I’m next. This may be my answer, and not my death sentence. Thank you!!

  35. A friend of mine tagged came across your ‘it’s not fibromyalgia’ article and tagged me in face book to read it. It has certinly peeked my interest. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia about 6 or so years ago, and have been out of work on disability since February 2014. I am going to print off your pdf and have my doctor test me for black mold (I’ve been tested for most everything under the sun so another test (non-invasive at that) won’t hurt!!!
Thank you for sharing your illness story with the world… Just to know their are more of ‘us’ out there makes it a little easier knowing I’m not crazy!!

I hope you are feeling better and are having less and less pain each day! Keep smiling….

    Kind regards,
    Janaya Olsen

  36. I lived in an apartment building 10 years ago that had black mold on the walls and ceilings. My youngest daughter has had pneumonia almost yearly and is always sick. I am wondering if she is sick because of the mold. Thank you in advance for adding me to the group.

  37. Hello
i’m sorry, i did this the wrong way and made a request to the group first.. I’m a Finn and nobody knows what’s wrong with me. I read your story and so many things sounded frighteningly familiar.

  38. I have been sick for 2 years and my diagnosis is asthma, but I don’t believe that is what it is. My asthma/allergist is stumped as to what to do with me. I can’t take the regular asthma medications (I get thrush – something weird is going on with my immune system and candida) and my asthma continues to be out of control. I feel exhausted and “not right”. I went to a homeopathic clinic and they did several blood tests. One of the results said I had mold in my body. I can’t get a M.D. to recognize those results because they are reported as “research” and not recognized by Western doctors. I think I know how I got exposed and the pieces are coming together. I need to keep on this path as I think mold is the root of all my medical issues. I’d like to be connected to this group to get educated and find resources.

  39. I moved to Texas from California 9 years ago. From the DAY we moved into our new home I became ill. Fibro, auto immune disease, and many other problems. I am here to find out more info on mold and it’s effects. I have been concerned about this being the cause of some of my problems for awhile now. Looking forward to joining your group! Thank you.

  40. I would like to join this group. I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Looking forward to learning about black mold disease. Thank you!

  41. I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and scleroderma. . I lived in a home that had black mold… I have never believed I have fibromyalgia. Didnt seem right. Please help me learn more… I agree to terms.

  42. I was diagnosed with CFS 3 years ago…I’m beginning to wonder what role mold has played in my symptoms.

  43. I would like to join this group. I too have been diagnosed with “fibromyalgia”. I have a sinus condition which I believe is related to mold/candida.

  44. Please add me to the group I have been diagnosed with both fibromyalgia and cfs, today a large piece of furniture was removed from my house covered in black mold, I would like to know more about this and the symptoms it can cause x

  45. Hi, I’ve been looking for a support group, i’ve been deathly sick for 8 months and just found out it’s due to mold ; ( After being broken financially, physically, spiritually, mentally–i just about gave up! Sure would like to be part of this group and agree to all terms! Thanks ; )

  46. MY 3 CHILDREN AND I ARE LIVING IN A HOUSE WITH 4 TYPES OF TOXIC MOLD FROM WATER DAMAGE FROM MY KITCHEN. I FILED A CLAIM INSURANCE A FEW MONTHS AGO BUT WE ARE STILL WAITING FOR THEM TO FIX IT. I WOULD LIKE TO JOIN THIS GROUP TO GET SOME IDEAS ON WHERE TO BEGIN. THANK YOU.

  47. I would like to be added to your Facebook page about toxic black mold. I am a fibromyalgia sufferer.

    1. Thank you. I am really trying to focus my attention more on getting good information and reaching outside of Facebook. There is so much support on Facebook and it is truly a blessing, but I know more individuals are without support and I realize the importance of reaching those who are not in the support groups.

  48. i HAVE BEEN SICK FOR TWO YEARS. i HAVE NOT BEEN WELL ENOUGH TO WORK SINCE LAST DECEMBER. I HAVE LOST EVERYTHING. THANKFUL FOR YOUR SITE.jILL

  49. Jill I know its super hard on so many out there. I want to do all I can to get as much helpful information on the site in the days ahead. It has been almost two years for us as well. We are finding many ways to improve. There is hope, mold avoidance is key. I was saddened to have lost it all, but I know its the only way to survive when we are this sick.. I am here for you, you are not alone in your battle.

  50. Hæ you all, I would like to be in your facebook group please.
